General
What does FlatOut Tire Sealant do?
FlatOut Tire Sealant is a preventative measure which helps you avoid the cost, downtime, inconvenience and safety risks associated with a flat tire. FlatOut further protects you maintaining proper tire pressure.
How does FlatOut work?
FlatOut Tire Sealant coats the inner walls of your tires and instantly repairs tire punctures as they occur. This coating also prevents slow air leaks.
How does FlatOut Tire Sealant repair a puncture?
FlatOut Tire Sealant is installed inside your tires. When you drive over something sharp, escaping air and the tire’s momentum pull the sealant into the puncture area where it clots to stop the leak. This repair happens very quickly - very little air is lost in the process - and FlatOut will last for the life of your tires.
How does FlatOut maintain tire pressure?
FlatOut prevents air leakage through the tire (due to the natural porosity of rubber) and at the bead (where the tire meets the rim).
How does FlatOut Tire Sealant help to reduce fuel costs?
FlatOut reduces fuel costs by keeping tires properly inflated. Under-inflated tires increase a vehicle’s rolling resistance, reducing fuel economy quite significantly.
How does FlatOut Tire Sealant extend tire life?
An under-inflated tire flexes excessively where it meets the road. Flexing generates heat which can damage the tire. FlatOut extends tire life by maintaining proper tire pressure, which in turn keeps tires running at their coolest possible operating temperature.
How is FlatOut better than aerosol patch kits?
FlatOut prevents flat tires. Aerosol kits can only be used after a flat has already occurred.

Does FlatOut eliminate the need for regular tire maintenance?
FlatOut is an effective form of preventative maintenance for your tires, but it does not replace regular tire maintenance procedures.
Does FlatOut cause balance or vibration problems?
If the tire and rim are properly balanced prior to installation and there no pre-existing suspension or alignment problems, FlatOut will not change vehicle performance. If a problem exists after installing FlatOut, it is a safety signal that that there is a mechanical problem with the vehicle that should be attended to.
Can FlatOut be used in tires with inner tubes?
FlatOut is not recommended for tires with inner tubes.
Should I remove a puncturing object from my tire?
Yes. Once a puncturing object has been removed, a seal will form that will last for the life of the tire.
Performance Characteristics
How large of a puncture can FlatOut repair?
FlatOut can repair punctures up to 1/4” (6mm) or 3/8” (10mm) in slower, off-road situations.
How long does FlatOut Tire Sealant last?
FlatOut will function for the life of the tire, provided that it is not contaminated in any manner.
In what range of air temperatures does FlatOut Tire Sealant work?
FlatOut is designed to operate at temperatures ranging from -52 to 112 degrees (-46 to 44°C). Below -52 degrees, FlatOut will not harden or adhere to the tire. It will first become slushy and with lower temperatures turn into crystals. However this is not a permanent change; FlatOut will re-liquefy after the tire rotates for a short period.
Can FlatOut repair sidewall damage?
It depends on the size of the sidewall puncture. FlatOut works best on the tread area where most tire injuries occur.
Will FlatOut corrode steel belts or rims?
No. FlatOut contains extremely effective anti-corrosion additives that eliminate any potential for damage to any metal part of the tire or tire assembly. FlatOut not only “locks” air inside a tire; it also prevents damaging foreign contaminants from entering.
Is a FlatOut repair as good as a patch?
In most cases, FlatOut is better than a patch. A patch is a repair that is performed AFTER the tire has gone flat and, in most cases, has been driven flat for some distance. Driving on a flat tire - even for a short distance - can create extensive internal damage that can easily go unnoticed by a repairman. FlatOut is a preventative measure which helps you avoid this scenario.
Could FlatOut conceal a potentially dangerous puncture?
FlatOut actually enhances driver safety. In sealing very large punctures (greater than 3/8"), FlatOut allows a gradual loss of air providing which allows the driver to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop.
Other
Is FlatOut safe to use?

FlatOut does not affect the tire manufacturer’s warranty.
